Shaker grad awarded Chuck Chera Scholarship

This year’s recipient of the Chuck Chera Scholarship, awarded by Twin Bridges, went to Zakhar Zaporizhskyi, a Shaker High School grad who plans a career in auto mechanics and will be going to Hudson Valley Community College in the fall. Zakhar, accompanied by his parents, came to a Twin Bridges June meeting to receive the $1,000 award. The family came to this country from Ukraine because of the war and to seek new opportunities.
